Spooky Brazilian Times!

You know what's fun, watching a bunch of kids who've never done Halloween do Halloween. For some it was planned even before they arrived to Canada in August. Others checked out Halloween sections in stores after they got here. They went big I must say and had loads of fun.

The invisible man is Isaac which as a true Canadian kid was put together that morning. He's had the morph suit for a while but as for the rest, he tried it on that afternoon. He was the trick or treater host for the Brazilian kids.  Nathalia on the other hand knew what she was going to be way back when. I think the second day in our home Corpse Bride was mentioned. Luckily on my search I found an old white dress for a $1.50 along with some sheers for another $1.00 and with a bit of a revamp came up with this.

It's been a while since there was this much hub bub at my house on Halloween and I think this night will long be remembered by them... at least I hope so. I know I will. :)

Pictures where take with just my ipad on this cold dreary night.

  2. Such a fun, fantastic introduction to this awesome holiday. Reading about the kids' first time celebrating Halloween reminded me instantly of when Tony and I first started dating (and were married; the latter happening about seven months after we met). He was from Italy (though working and living in Ireland at the time) and hadn't grown up with Halloween. Here he was married to one of the biggest Halloween fans the world had ever known and was a bit like a fish out of water, but from the very get-go I made sure to welcome him into the celebration, answer any questions, and support his own blossoming interest in this holiday as much as I could. More than eleven years on, I'm elated to say that my Italian DH is now a card carrying Halloween fan unto himself and that he really warmed up to this spooky day and all of the great traditions associated with it.

Big hugs & tons of happy November wishes,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. There are so many firsts for these kids, it's been so fun. We've learned so much about Brazil and I'm pretty sure she's been learning a lot about us. She's an open an honest kid so we've learned that some of the things we do are really strange.lol
